Dean started flying with an intro flight in 1973 and never looked back. In 1975, becoming a CFII & ATP in fixed-wing, then flying charter & contract for the postal service. Wanting to be a police pilot Dean joined a police department to learn the law enforcement field. Dean paid for his transition to get his commercial & CFI in rotor-wing in Bell 47s, in 1984. In 1986 Dean was hired by the U.S. Customs Service as an Aircraft Pilot in San Antonio, TX, and flew the border chasing smugglers. Dean later rose to become the National Aviation Safety Officer for the Customs Service’s 435 pilots and 135 aircraft. Retiring in 2006, Dean now works contract when he wants to. He really enjoys his recently purchased 2005 R22 Beta II.
